10 Questions with Brandon V. Riley

This week’s 10 question spotlight is on Brandon V. Riley!

  • What is your name and how old are you?
    • My name is Brandon V. Riley and I am 34 years old.
  • What social media links can your fans follow you on?
    • I have a facebook page. Click here to follow me!
  • What hobbies do you have, beside theater of course?
    • I love to play sports, go to the movies, and listen to music. I also really enjoy trying out local restaurants.
  • What do you do for a living when you’re not performing?
    • I’m a theater teacher for 7th-12th grades.
  • How long have you been directing?
    • I have been directing since 2012. So about five years.
  • In that time, how many shows have you done?
    • I have directed many shows over the past 5 years. Some of those include Girl in the Mirror, Split, Murder’s in the Heir, Songs for a New World, Godspell, Oliver, Songs for Coretta, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, and Chocolate Affair.
  • What are your top three favorite shows and roles that you have played?
    • A Midsummer’s Night Dream
    • Oliver
    • Murder’s in the Heir
  • What are your top 3 roles you would love to play?
    • This is a hard list to narrow down but I would have to say
      • A Raisin in the Sun
      • Hamilton
      • West Side Story
  • What theater companies have you acted with?
    • Missouri Baptist University, The Sun Theater, Innervision Dance Theatre, Kirkwood Theatre Guild, St. Louis Shakespeare, St. Louis Art Museum, and Take Two Productions.
  • What nominations and awards have you received?
    • Best Youth Director in 2012- Arts for Life (Won)
    • I have been nominated multiple times over the years through Arts for Life as a director, assistant director, actor, and member of the production staff.

Brandon has devoted his professional and personal life to teaching the young actors in our community the art of acting. We thank him for his dedication and passion for the arts. In closing, I asked Brandon if we could look forward to seeing him on stage soon or a show under his direction and he said, “Not at the moment. I took this summer off after a busy year.”
